Photo Hunters - Balanced

See how well I am balanced on the wall?

Lola isn't as well balanced, if she's not careful she may fall off!

Freaky Friday!

Here's a collection of videos of cats and dogs talking that mum has found on the Internet. Personally we think she needs a new hobby. Enjoy.

If the video doesn't load you can watch it here.

Fun Facts Thursday

Ten Signs That You're A Crazy Cat Person
  1. Your colleagues no longer ask how your weekend was. Instead they ask how your cats are doing.
  2. People at work have stopped offering you their lint brushes/rollers. They realise it's hopeless anyway.
  3. When you get your latest roll of film developed, there's not a single human being in the pictures.
  4. You have more cats then the local pet shop and there are litter trays in every room of the house.
  5. Your personal motto is: "You can never have enough cats."
  6. You buy more then 12 bags of cat litter a month
  7. You'd rather watch hours of boring infomercials than disturb the cat sleeping on the remote
  8. You choose your friends based on how well your cats like them
  9. The only time you leave your house is to feed the stray cats in the neighbourhood
  10. You introduce your cat by name to the postman.

We don't know about you guys, but we feel our mum ranks pretty highly on that list.

With regards to Wednesday's post, we're remaining tight lipped on who actually deaded the mouse, but mum says she has her suspicions *cough*Thomas*cough*. Of course, she can't prove anything.

Well, we've all seen how you cats deal with the snow. Now let a dog show you how it's done!

No 'pussy footing' around here.

Friday Fight Fest!

Well, okay, they happened on Thursday night, but mum thought she would post them today!

It started off innocently enough. Lola was enjoying a bath, when Charlie decided to join her. Somehow, as always it descended into a bit of rough and tumble.

If the video doesn't load, watch it here.

However, it soon turned into a full on hiss and spit fight.

If the video doesn't load, you can watch it here.

Then all of a sudden, Thomas O'Toole decided to rush in to defend Lola's honour.

If the video doesn't load, you can watch it here.

Mum doesn't know what's gotten into us, maybe too much nip?

Mancat Monday

Every Mancat knows, that staying in bed is a fine art!

First one must select the correct bed to 'stay' in. A bed previously vacated by its human occupant is always a good place to start. These beds tend to remain warm and cosy throughout the day.

If you cannot find a recently vacated bed, then an unmade bed will suffice. Of course you are to resist all attempts made by your human to remove you so they can make the bed. This can be accomplished by looking exceedingly cute. However, in the unlikely event that your cuteness should fail, one is permitted to hiss, spit, growl, scratch and bite, though not necessarily in that order. Clinging to the bed covers may also be effective.

Most of all, enjoy your nap.

Friday Fun - Bag Of Tricks

Hmm, what's this?

Lots of bits and bobs inside

*Crunch* *Munch*

Today the human slave made me a new toy to keep me entertained, while she faffs about in the snow, trying to keep the rabbits warm.

It's a Bag of Tricks. A simple paper bag stuffed with hay and loaded with hidden treats and interesting things to explore. It took me a whole five minutes to destroy!

Missy has one as well, but he hasn't touched his yet. Silly, he doesn't know what he's missing!

Thankful Thursday

Today we're very thankful that mum manged to get to a pet shop that had some cat litter available. The snow outside is up to our bellies, so now more ploughing through the cold wet stuff to the pooping tree.

Wednesday Whiteout!

Not again!?!

Yes, that's right. We've been 'snowed' in by this horrible white stuff again. It gets right in between your toes, brrr!

Not only is this white stuff mildly irritating and immensely inconvenient, it has sparked some rather bizarre behaviour in the humans of our county. Apparently they have been panic buying cat litter, but not so we can relieve ourselves in the warmth and comfort of the indoors. So they can put it on their paths and driveways. Humans are odd at the best of times.

If anyone needs us we shall be napping in the warmest places available, like the satellite box.

Fun Feline Facts

As cats it is important that we educate our humans. What better subject then how fabulous felines are. Be sure to get your human to read this, proper human care is essential for a happy cat!

Cats are members of the Felidea family.

A litter of kittens is called a kindle, and a group of cats is called a clowder.

A cat's IQ is only surpassed by that of monkeys and chimps in the world of animals.

Cats are the only animals that purr. They can purr at around 26 cycles per second, which is the same frequency as an idling diesel engine.

Purring doesn't necessarily mean a cat is happy. Sometimes cats will purr when they are scared or hurt.

A cat's nose pad is as unique as a human fingerprint. No two nose prints are identical.

Petting or stroking a cat has actually been proven to help in lowering one's blood pressure.

One way a cat shows s/he trusts you is by rolling over on his/her back.

A cat's hearing is much stronger and more sensitive than a dog's or a human's. Human hearing stops at 20 khz; a cat's at 65 khz.

Cats have 32 muscles in each ear and can turn their ear very quickly to catch noise. Much faster than a very alert watchdog.

A cat's sense of smell is about 14 times stronger than a humans.

Cats have five toes on their front paws and four on their back paws. If a cat is polydactyl, s/he has extra toes.

Cats have over 100 vocals sounds, while dogs have only 10.

Normal body temperature for a cat is between 100.5 F and 102.5 F.

Cats drink liquid from the underside of their tongue, not from the top.

Cats use their whiskers to determine if the space they are entering is big enough for them.

To calm a frightened cat put your hand over his/her eyes and forehead or let him/her bury his/her head in your armpit.

Only about 80% of cats have the gene that allows them to respond to the effects of catnip. The other 20% are not affected by it.

Domestic cats are the only cats that can hold their tails vertically while they walk. Wild cats hold theirs horizontally or between their legs.

The only "natural" breed of domestic cat in America is the Main Coon.

Cats get an average of 16 hours of sleep per day.

A cat lover is called an ailurophile.

We hope you human enjoyed todays lesson. Remember an educated human is a happy human.
