Mad Dog Monday!

Well not mad maybe, slightly ticked off. Yesterday was a lovely day, beautiful weather with temperatures reaching 81 F. So like any self respecting dog I decided to sit out in the blazing sun to pant for a bit. I of course ignored all of my mum's attempts to get me to either sit in the shade or come into the cool of the house. That's when it happened.

She got my lead from the hook and I thought I was in for a walk. She slipped it over my head and then tied it to the gate. Before I knew what was going on the hose and the dog shampoo came out. I howled and howled for help, but no body came! Afterwards and I shudder to think of this part, she brushed out all my loose furs, now I have nothing to line the carpets and furniture with and now I smell all yucky and flowery. It took me ages and lots of rolling in stinky stuff to develop that unique crusty, cheesy dog smell and now it's all gone!

Another reason I am not to happy is England's 4-1 defeat against Germany. It seems football may be coming home, but not to England this time.

I hope you're enjoying the weather were you are and you're not having to suffer a bath!

  2. We are so glad we're not dogs and have to endure a hose-down! We feel for you, Shen! We hope you can roll in something and smell like 'you' again!

  3. The bath sounds just awful! We hope you get back to smelling like yourself again soon.

And our sympathies about England's loss - we think the officiating error made it especially frustrating.

  4. Oh, no! The dreaded bath! Ugh! We feel for you. Okay, we can only imagine how horrific it must be, since we've never been bathed by our human. (We'd shred her.)

But just think how much fun you'll have rolling around in smelly things now!

  5. A hose down sounds horrible! But I'm a cat.

Did you know that Grete willingly...yes without bribery will step into the bathtub or shower for a scrub? Maybe it's because she's a girl...

  10. Tanner had to have a bath the other day at the vets office when he peed on himself, but he had nice warm water in a tub :)

I'll bet that water helped to cool you off though!

  12. Shen it is too bad you had to have a bath! And we are so surprised none of the kitties came to help you (ok, maybe we aren't really surprised - it would have been funnier if they had helped!)

  13. Well, if you are going to have a shower, you might as well have it on such a hot day.
