Wordless Wednesday - Bathtime!

Charlie O'Marley and Lola Fannola x

And now a few words, well quite a lot of words actually from our mum bean.

Firstly I would like to apologise for not commenting on many blogs. Things start off okay and then after a while Blogger returns and error code whenever I attempt to comment on a blog. Maybe I just have too much to say!

Also I would like to assure everyone we're doing all we can to break Charlie of his bee habit. I am attempting to keep him in, but Charlie is a lot younger and a lot faster then I am and sometimes he's like a greyhound out of a trap whenever he hears a door open. I have also removed the flowers from the plants, they were beginning to go over anyway. I have also taken to spraying Charlie with water whenever I catch him with a bee. It seems to be slowly sinking in as he's no longer trying to eat them. Also I have researched the bees that Charlie is catching. It turns out they're common masonry bees, which do not sting. Still it's a habit I'd rather Charlie does not expand on. I would be grateful of any other tips!

What A Bee Brain!

Now that the weather has become cooler the bees that frequent our plants have become rather dopey and slow to react.

It has now become Charlie's favourite pastime to catch these bees and taunt them before attempting to EAT them! Of course not only is this a silly thing to do, it is a dangerous thing to do. Bee stings to the mouth or throat in cat can prove to be fatal. The only trouble is somewhere along the line Charlie failed to get the memo.

Just yesterday I had to throw a small jug of water over Charlie before he would stop in his attempts to devour a sleepy bee! However this hasn't put him off his pursuit of the small and fuzzy. He has even on occasion brought them into the house so he can munch undisturbed by Lola. Is he at all concerned about the stress and worry he is causing? No....

Yeah, whatever!

Charlie here. In my defence I would just like to say that I am not taunting these bees. I am simply taking my job as protector of our house very seriously and anything the flies, scuttles, slithers or crawls will be dealt with in the more severe manner, including bees. It has nothing to do with the fact that they tickle my nose, or the fact they taste fuzzy and are nice and crunchy. That is all.

Thank you.

And now a word from Charlie.

I could have got down from the shed roof all by myself if I had wanted! Lola was just being a big tattle tail and sucking up to mum bean because she worked out how to use the rabbit hutch to get down first. I was just taking my time and enjoying the view.

Please be sure to check out Charlie O'Marley's post on Wendy's LOL Spot

P.S Tomorrow, Friday 25th September is Thomas O'Toole's 4th Birthday. Please drop by tomorrow and help us celebrate

Not So Wordless Wednesday

I'm not stuck up here! I can get down if I wanted to I just don't want to at the moment.

No, I want to be up here!

It is a bit high up, but I could still get down if I wanted to!

I was up there and I got down all by myself!

For those wondering, mum bean had to get a chair and lift Charlie down in the end. Boy cats, what can you do with them?

Awarding Tuesday

Both these wonderful awards come from our good furiend a kitty named Reese.

This first award translates as THIS BLOG MAKES ME HAPPY. According to the rules of this award we have to list 5 things that make us happy and then pass the award on to five fellow bloggers.

Things that makes us happy

1. Nap time. A good nap, preferably in a sunbeam is always guaranteed to make us happy!

2. Noms. We love noms and having a full and happy tummy usually leads to number 1 on the list.

3. Playtime. There is nothing more fun then a dose of the crazies and running around the house like a mad cat. This often leads to us requiring number 2 on the list, which then leads to number 1.

4. Our mum bean. She makes us happy as she helps us do number 3 and has been known, on occasion to provide number 2, which leads to number 1.

5. All our blogging friends!

We would like to pass this award on to

Sam and Andy Meowsville

House of Cats

Faz The Cat

MANX MNEWS

and

The Cat Street Boyz

We apologise if you've already recieved this award and we've missed it!

This next award we would like to pass on to all our blogging friends who visit us today!

Friday - Tweet Week, Take Two!

To make up for our serious lack of feathers yesterday we decided to make a slide show of all the birdies our mum bean has seen on her many travels to many zoos and wildlife gardens.

We hope Fin from Housecat Confidential approves

Of course we also live with two birdies

Don't be fooled! They may look like tasty Chick-Hens, but these birdies bite back!

Thursday - Tweet Week

We wanted to get some great pictures of the birdies that visit our garden for tweet week. Only when we went out to the garden there wasn't a feather to be found!

Which is strange really because mum bean has put so many interesting things in the garden to attract the birdies. Prehaps they've run out of batteries, like our lazer pen!

So unforutnately you will have to look at pictures of all the birdie things that, don't attract the birdies.

Knock, knock. Anyone home?

A birdie entertainment centre

Minus any birdies of course!

P.S. We haven't had a taker for Paw It Forward yet. We understand that things are tight for many beans and kitties at the moment. We don't mind waiting.

Treats on Tuesday

We thought that we would share some treat recipes with you. Our mum bean says that she's going to be making these ones over the weekend. We reserve judgement!

Cat Crackers

6 ounces of undrained tuna
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/3 cup water

Recipe Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Measure all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into treat sized pieces. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden. Let cool. Give to your cat and watch them gobble it up.

Cat Cruchies

Ingredients & Directions:

Cut some crusts from whole meal bread into cubes. Dissolve some Marmite in hot water to provide an amount suitable for moistening the cubed crusts, without making them too soggy. Space out the cubes on a baking tray and cook on the bottom shelf of a low oven until dried. Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container.

Ham it Up cat Treats

1 jar (2-1/2ounces) strained ham baby food
5/8 cup wheat germ
5/8 cup non-fat milk powder
1 egg, beaten

Recipe Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray cookie sheet with vegetable oil spray. Mix baby food, wheat germ, milk powder, and egg in medium bowl. Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on wire rack. Store baked treats in airtight container or plastic bag and place in refrigerator or freezer.

NOTE: Beef or chicken baby food may be substituted for ham baby food.

P.S. We have since discovered thanks to the many comments we received on our Mystery Monday post. That the square shaped thing in the back door is in fact a kitty portal to the back garden. Thomas is still refusing out right to use it, why squeeze through a flap when there's a perfectly good door to be opened. Lola has taken to it like a duck (Mmm duck!) to water *shudders*. Charlie O'Marley prefers to push the flap with his paw to get it swinging before he heads through.
