Thankful Fishy Thursday

Today we're very thankful for Pre-Teenbean and her fishing skills.

Yesterday as part of her school's 'Learning Life Skills' initiative, Pre-Teenbean went to Barn Elms Trout Fishery to learn fly fishing as part of their experience days for physically and mentally disabled children.

Little did The Mum expect her to actually come home with anything. She thought it was simply a case of catch, weigh, take a picture and release. The Mum had a very BIG shock.

Fish Number One: A Brown Trout - 1lb 4oz

Fish Number Two: A Rainbow Trout - 3lb 4oz

Fish Number Three: A Brown Trout - 1lb 4oz

The Mum baked them in foil in the oven with butter, lemon and a slosh of white wine. We even got to share in the celebration by having fresh Trout for dinner. It was very nommy. Only Charlie, the fusspot, refused to eat it because, it didn't smell of Tuna and certainly hadn't come out of the tin. No accounting for taste!

  20. Those fish did NOT look happy they were caught... but I bet you kitties were happy to share the yummy meal! I have never had trout (mostly just salmon and sardines), but my human assures me it is tasty! Charlie is nuts to turn his nose up at such a treat - especially since it was caught by a member of his family!
