Feline Friday with Charlie O'Marley, Lola Fannola and Thomas O'Toole

"Guys, when's it my turn to look out of the kitchen window?"

"Later, Charlie.  Later..."

P.S.  On Wednesday some cats were a little concerned that Charlie was sat on the stove.  Please be assured that the stove was off and when not in use is switched off at the mains power supply.  When the stove has been used and is hot, The woman places a pan filled with cold water on top so no cat can get burnt.

  1. Charlie, I see you aren't getting a break any time soon!

Our stove's pilot light does not stay on all the time - only when you actually turn the stove on - so we weren't worried! Not that any of us would think of getting up there anyway. Heh.

  2. We both get up on the counter to get to the window but Mum watches us like a hawk in case we go near the cooker top and if we get too close we hear the "GET DOWN NOW" shouted at us and we do jump down - also she never leaves the kitchen if the hob is on.

  4. Allie likes to jump on the stove too. Mom does the same thing when the burners are hot.

  6. Charlie, you gotta get tough so you can get that window!

We sit on the stove too...but only when it is off...and like your human, if it's hot, she puts a pot on it so we can't get hurt.

  7. That's a smart thing to do with the stove to be sure no one got burned. About 25 ago, the grandpeep's cat used to eat on the little counter next to the stove to keep the food away from the dog. Alfie managed to bump the controls and turn on one of the electric burners, then settle down to eat a little too close. She was happily eating away when this terrible smell filled the kitchen. The fur on Alfie's leg was getting burned. She had rings on her fur, but it never burned her skin, so she was oblivious. The peeps learned an important lesson in keeping cats safe from stovetops.

  9. you are still waiting?! OMC! I wasn't worried about the stove, I have a similar one and Cody is FOREVER getting up there (caught him head first in a pot of gravy the other day). I love your idea about putting cold water in a pot, I may have to do that!

  10. Poor Charlie! You should probably make a schedule and reserve turns for each of you!

  11. You all have a very smart mommy in making sure that you are safe when it comes to the stove. It appears as if the window has enough space for all of you at once. Is it that you just don't want to share? Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
