Muscling in on Mancat Monday

Little sisters. You can't live with them and you can't smacky paw them, mum says so. But they're sooooooo annoying. Especially when they're always attempting to muscle in on your Mancat Monday post.

Here she comes, acting as if Tempations wouldn't melt in her mouth. Pretending to be looking at something in the distance.

Then she just has to get closer and ruin my very manly Mancat Monday posing with her frilly feminine ways. She always spoils everything!

See what I mean?

Happy Cat Award - Part Two

Today both us boys received the Happy Cat Award from our good friend Huffle Mawson. Thank you.

So here's what makes us happy.

Thomas

  1. Playing with my friend Ringo the ginger cat who lives across the road
  2. Visiting my other houses. I have a few houses on our street where I can go for a nap or a snack
  3. Having a good wash in the sunshine
  4. Being left alone, I am not a cuddle fussy cat, I prefer my space
  5. Scratching on the fences in the garden

Charlie

  1. Lots of cuddles and fuss
  2. Food, mum says I am getting a little chunky, well, a lot chunky. I say it's all fur
  3. Cat nip, both fresh and dried. I love to lick it, roll in it and eat it
  4. Rolling in the dusty dirt in the front garden
  5. Nice long naps on mum's bed. It's very comfy on there.

Since Lola has already passed this award onto our friends and a lot of you have already received it, we're going to break the rules and say, anyone who wants the award or hasn't received it yet are welcome to take it.

Happy Cat Award

On Wednesday I received this Happy Cat award from my handsome mancat Alfie Marshall over at The Cat's Meow Blog.

The rules for this award are pretty simple. Just link back to the blog that gave you the award, list five things that make you happy and then pass the award onto 6 of your friends.

Here are the five things that make me very happy.

1. Alfie Marshall, because he is handsome, kind, caring and brave. But above all, he's mine!

2. Being outside in the garden, soaking up the sun and hunting for grass monsters in the long grass

3. My pink and green fuzzy cat nip mices. I love them so much and carry them around with me when I am in the house.

4. Food, food and yes, more food.

5. Pre-Teen Bean, Ana. We have a very special relationship. I don't really like spending a lot of time with my beans (I am very independent), but I really love to spend time with Ana in her bedroom.

We would like to pass this award onto

Eric and Flynn

Puss in Boats

Snafu over at Cat of Nine Tales

Faz the Cat

and

Prints of a Cat

If you have already received thus award and we missed it, we're sorry!

Thursday in the garden

It's Thursday again. Sadly today will be a short post as Toddlerbean has thoughtfully shared her rather snotty cold with mum. So she's not up to much gardening at the moment. Of course it has nothing to do with the fact she spent the last two days painting the doorsteps and exterior windowsills. That's right mum, you blame Toddlerbean *tut*.

The baby tomato plants have grow lots and have since been re-potted. They were a gift from one of our neighbours. they very kindly gave us 22 tomato plants. Only, mum doesn't like tomatoes. Oh well, if you need some, you'll know who to ask.

Mum did manage to plant up a new planter with three Clematis Montanas in different colours (sadly no flower until next year) and a mixed lot of Trailing Lobelia

Some of our old Lobelia plants are starting to flower. Mum bought two trays of WHITE Lobelia. There always has to be one that's different, doesn't there?

This is what they're supposed to look like!

We hope you enjoyed our short but sweet gardening post. Don't forget to visit all our other gardening friends.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Something is eating our Cat Mint! Time to return the favour. Om nom nom nom!

Don't worry, mum didn't let us eat him. He was popped into a jar and taken to Toddlerbean's Pre-school for Show and Tell. They're learning about Mini Beasts this term. He was then released back onto the Cat Mint so he can become a beautiful butterfly and then we'll eat him.

Mum would like to say thank you for all the birthday messages, they mean so much to her. She promises she will get back to visiting all our friends soon, but yesterday was the third anniversary of her grandfather's death. So she's feeling a bit down at the moment.

She would also like to share with you this brilliant birthday card her mum had made for her.

You may need to bigify!

Thursday In the Garden with Charlie O'Marley

Good Thursday everyone! As today is my 1st Gotcha Day, mum said that I could do this weeks gardening post. So today I thought I'd show you some of the interesting garden related pictures mum has taken with the flashy box. I like it when mum is busy taking garden pictures as it generally means she leaves us alone.

Above is a close up of a Herb Robert flower. A type of wild Geranium that grows mainly in lawns and grassy areas. Can you believe that this beautiful flower is considered a weed? Mum thinks it is far too pretty to get rid of.

Above is a picture of a Clematis Montana bloom. This is one of mum most favourite plants in the garden. It takes very little effort to look after and it always rewards what little effort you do put in with a cascade of dusty pink flowers. It's such a great climber that it is also great for hiding any ugly parts of the garden. Not that any garden has any ugly parts.

Ah, my old nemisis. The humble bumble bee.

I hope you enjoyed my gardening post today and the beautiful pictures that mum has taken. Please don't forget to visit out other gardening friends.

Puss In Boots

There is a new cat in our house! Puss In Boots! Not really, today is Book Character Day at Toddlerbean's pre-school. A day when the children have to dress up as characters from popular children's stories. ToddlerBean wanted to go dress as a cat, so mum found a pair of grey boots and ta-da, Puss In Boots!

What a cute kitty!

P.S. Mum is hoping to get some free time this weekend to visit and catch up with all our friends. We've missed you!

P.S. Mum would like to apologise for not visiting our friends much these last few days. But she's apparently been busy doing other things (writing fan fiction). What could be more important then us?

Thursday in the garden

As I promised on last week's gardening post it's time to see how our Cat Mint (Nepeta Racemosa) is coming along.

We planted it on 18th April. Here's a picture of how it looked then.

This is how it looks now. It has certainly done a lot of growing in a short place of time.

The tiny purple flowers

Unfortunately our grass seed hasn't done anything yet, despite mum watering it every day. Maybe the bird ate all the seeds when we weren't looking. We will keep you posted on any grass developments.

Purring for Herman

Today we're purring for Herman and his mum Karen Jo. Poor Herman is not very well, but he has started eating a little bit more.

Please join us in purring for Herman and his mum. They could both really use those purrs!

Photo Hunters - Black

My mood is as black as my furs.

I'm still not talking to you mum, yesterday was a black day.

Charlie O'Marley x

P.S

A note from mum.

Hello everyone. I used to use Frontline or the drops on the back of the neck, but swapped to tablets for two reasons. One, getting the drops on the back of the neck wasn't easy. Shen would sit still and let me do it being a dog, but the cats where suspicious of anything wet. Two, because I couldn't dose properly it became ineffective against the fleas and we were over run a few months back and I had to flea bomb the entire house.

I use pill pockets for Thomas as he doesn't seem to notice the pills. But Lola will eat round it and spit it out and Charlie refuses to have anything to do with the pill pockets. So unfortunately it's the old grab and shove maneuver and I get ignored for a few days. It wasn't as bad as they made out, it was all over in seconds ;o)
