To our good friends

We would like to say thank you for all the support, advice and information our goof friends have giving to us during our search for Thomas O'Toole. Mum will be doing everything you have recommended!

This morning mum telephoned our Local Authority to ask if there has been any deceased cats collected from the surrounding streets over the last few days. The lovely lady on the phone assured us that all deceased cats collected by the environmental health and street cleaning teams are taken straight to t local vet to be scanned for a microchip. Since Thomas is chipped it is good news that we haven't received that call yet. However she did take Thomas's details and promised to call back should she hear anything about a cat fitting his description.

So maybe that means that Thomas is still out there somewhere. But where?

Sad Saturday

Thomas O'Toole is still missing. He hasn't been home since 10pm November 26th and the weather out is bitterly cold.

Mum bean has been busy with her computer most of the morbning printing out hundreds of leaflets and loads of posters. She has phoned all the local vets and shelters and reported him as missing to the microchip data base. Mum bean is hoping to post more leaflets and put up more posters further a field tomorrow. But really all we can do it sit back and wait.

Please come home Thomas, we miss you!

Please Come Home Thomas O'Toole! (mummy is worried)

Mum bean here, Thomas O'Toole has been AWOL as of 10pm last night. Myself and the husband went to bed as usual at 10pm (I know, we have no life) and soon after we heard the sound of the cat flap going. A sure sign that Thomas had left the building.

When I got up this morning at 07:15 Charlie and Lola were waiting in the kitchen for their breakfast as usual and Thomas usually makes his appearance at around 07:30 - 08:00. No sign.

I know Thomas has several other houses that he frequents when he doesn't like what is on the menu at home and I am hoping he's camping out at one to punish me for giving him his flea tablet yesterday, but it is unusual for Thomas not to make an appearance at some point during the day, even if it's just to greet the dog. He is microchipped and has a collar and tag with all our details on.

I have called and called, walked the streets and rattled the cat biscuit box. Nothing. I am holding off calling the local vets and animal shelters as he hasn't really been missing that long in cat terms and I suppose also in the vain hope that if I don't and I stop worrying and panicking, he'll come strolling through the cat flap as if nothings a miss.

Please, please can we have some prayers and puurrs that Thomas comes home safe and sound or is simply shut in somewhere.

Thank you xxx

Travelling Tuesday

We have been travelling in our very own custom made paper plane, thanks to Pre-teen bean. Luckily mum bean has been able to borrow another laptop so she can tell you all about it.

Unfortunately the old laptop cannot be saved, so mum bean will have to save her pennies to buy a new one. Of course this may impact severely on the treats and toys budget, but we are willing to over look this matter just this once.

Another piece of good news is mum bean managed to back up all her files before she lost battery power on the old laptop. Who'd have thought simply bashing the power lead could cause so much trouble. Bad mummy, BAD!

Off we fly, to a blog near you!

Your pilot for this flight is Thomas O'Toole

Co Pilot Charlie O'Marley is riding shotgun

Glamopuss Lola Fannola, Air Stewardess to the stars!

We hope you enjoyed your flight with Paper Airlines, come again soon!

Annual PurrFurMance Review 2009

Today is the day. The day our our Pet Person's first Annual PurrFurMance Review. At least with it being her first review, things can only get better, right. Right?

Quantity of Output:

Recently there had been a significant downturn in the amount of posts being made. We have somehow slipped from daily postings to perhaps one or two a week and in some extreme circumstances no posts for a whole week! We have been informed the reasons for this are, 'Christmas is coming' and 'busy.' We're not sure who this 'Christmas' things he is, but nothing should come before our blogging needs. Well, perhaps our other needs.

Rating: Medium, Two Paws. In light of the fact that there has been a promise of improvment.

Quality of Output:

We feel that on a whole, given the serious lack of output, the quality has not been too shabby. However there are some posts and photographs that wouldn't necessarily have got our approval prior to posting.

Rating: High, Four Paws.

Client Pawticipation:

Our Pet Person has ensured that there are many ways to contact us if the need arises. We have our e-mail address and clickable links to our Facebook pages displayed in the side column . However our Pet Person doesn't check e-mail or update Facebook pages as often as they should do.

Rating: Medium, Two Paws.

Pawticipation (Part II):

Our Pet Person has made a real effort to ensure that we're able to take place in all the fun activities taking place in the Cat Blogosphere. However there have been events that we have missed because our Pet Person was 'too busy' or wasn't aware of what was required.

Rating: Medium, Two Paws.

Client Satisfaction:

We average between 15-25 comments per post. We believe that this could be improved by more visitation to our Cat Blogging friends. On a whole the comments that have been made are encouraging.

Rating: High, Four Paws.

Overall Rating:

An overall rating of Medium, Two Paws has been achieved. However we do believe that there is more then a little room for improvement and more treats, yes, more treats!

Finally Felon Friday

And the culprit of Wednesday's Whodunnit post is...........

Thomas O'Toole!

He shamelessly knocked Pre-teen Bean's art work off the shelf, because he was in a bad mood at having been removed from the TV cabinet.

Tired Tuesday, with toes!

We're all tired out here. But it's nice to have the house back to ourselves now that the Fix It Men have gone, along with their scary boxes filled with large metal jangly things. It's much warmer indoors now, so that calls for some serious nappage!

Mancat in training Monday - Watching Fevvers

Any Mancat in training knows that watching fevvers in an important aspect in Mancattiness. Of course I have the advantage against those, average Mencats in training, as I have my own personal fevvers to keep an eye on.

Charlie O'Marley x

P.S.

We would like to apologise for the disruption in our usual blogging posts. But unfortunately mum bean has been super busy as the boiler was causing trouble. Once the Fix It Men made there appearance we of course, disappeared. After a week of the Fix It Men practically camping it out in the house we happy to report that the boiler is now fixed and working as it should.

Of course all the lack of posting and visitation will be recorded on her Pur-fur-mance review.

Thankful for Floyd Friday!

Today we would like to dedicate our blog post in tribute to our great furiend Floyd from House of Cats

Floyd had to be helped to the bridge recently due to illness and while we're very sad that Floyd has passed on and we didn't get to be furiends with him for long, we're very happy that we were able to be furiends and to have him in our lives for the short time that we did.

Floyd and his kitty siblings were one of the first furiends we made when we started blogging. They even took part in Paw It Forward, sending us a wonderful package of toys and treats. They made us feel very welcome and part of the cat blogging family and for that mum bean and us are very grateful!

We were very sad when we got the news that Floyd was feeling unwell and off his food. To make Floyd feel better and to tempt him to eat, we send him some nommy treats. Sadly due to industrial actions and strikes with our postal system in the UK, Floyd never got to nom our treats as he had already gone. But we hope that Virgil, Lola, Barney and Kirzon get to enjoy them while remembering Floyd.

We know that Floyd is happy in Heaven, mum says that heaven is full of green fields with bees and butterflies to chase. She also says that there is no illness or vets in heaven. The only down side we can think of is you can't visit your friends and loved ones there.

Floyd, we will miss you, but you will always have a special place in our hearts as our very good cat blogging furiend. Have fun chasing the bees and butterflies and one day we will get to meet you at the bridge.

Thomas O'Toole, Charlie O'Marley and Lola Fannola x

P.S We would like to thank Floyd's mum Amy for allowing us to make this tribute and for giving us permission to use the above photos. xxx

Our furiends over at Boo-Bah's Little Sunshines gave us this great Honest Scrap award.

We have to list 10 interesting and honest fact about us and then pass the award onto a minimum of 7 other blogging friends.

We can't possibly think that there would be 10 interesting facts about us, but we will try our best.

1. Mum bean's eldest daughter Ana suffers from a condition called Autistic Spectrum Disorder. It means she has trouble with communication and social situations. Mum bean fought for seven years to get a diagnosis for Ana.

2. Thomas O'Toole is so named because his first collar was green and Dad Bean thought it made him look Irish. Until then he was plain old Thomas.

3. Shen is a Kennel Club registered Black Labrador Retreiver and his registered name is Tom Foster

4. Charlie O'Marley was named Charlie after the cartoon cat that appeared on public information advertisments in the late 70's early 80' in England. Charlie Says Video

5. Lola Fannola was named Lola after Lauren Child's character Lola who has an older brother called Charlie. Charlie and Lola Video

6. Missy Moo is 10 years old and that's still young for a Cockatoo. Some species of Cockatoo can live into their 80's!

7. Dad bean wasn't a cat person until Charlie and Lola cam to live with us. Now Dad bean has a special relationship with Lola.

8. Mum bean's other hobby apart from blogging is reserching family history. She has managed to trace one branch of the family back to Anthony Poulsum 1559.

9. Mum bean is a taphophile Taphophilia

10. Thomas O'Toole has another home (that mum bean knows about) across the road where he goes for a spot of breakfast if he doesn't like what's on offer at home.

Phew, did it. There we told you, nothing interesting at all!

We would like to pass this award onto the following bloggers. We're sorry if you've received this award before and we missed it.

Cat of Nine Tales

Life of a Spoiled Cat

Mr Tuck's Neighborhood

Pet Meadow

Sam and Andy's Meowsville
