Friday Fevver

He looks like he'd make a great post breakfast pre lunch snack.

Here birdie, birdie, birdie!

We have some distressing news, this morning our mum tried to choke us. Yes, you read that right, choke us! She acted all nice to begin with, fed us treats and then started cuddling us, but before we knew it she shoved a tiny pill down our throats and held our mouths shut. It was awful! We think we would much rather have the fleas then go through that every 6-8 weeks!

Thursday in the garden with Lola Fannola

So, today it is my turn to show you around our garden. I love spending time in the garden, especially our front garden as it is a complete sun trap for most of the day. Sometimes mum wishes our front garden was round the back, but then it wouldn't be our front garden then and I wouldn't be able to watch the people walking past.

Mum planted some Red Star Cordyline plants in with the Ribes, flowering red current to protect it from the rather strong winds we get. While mum has put the Ribes against a warm sunny wall, strong winds can sometimes burn the leaves of the Ribes. In the black pot is a Trailing Annabel Fuschia that managed to survive the snows to come back this spring. It was the only one that did, so much couldn't bring herself to throw it out, so repotted it.

Mum also planted another Red Star Cordyline, some mixed Violas and some white Trailing Lobelia. Under my close snoopervision of course (the cordyline looks a bit lopsided in this picture, but mum straightened it up as soon as I pointed out her mistake). Notice the cool cat and dog ornaments?

To go with the Violas in the pot with the cordyline mum also got some Viola hanging baskets. They take a lot of looking after, you have to water them lots as they dry out quickly and you must remember to pick off the dead and dying flower heads if you want them to flower through until the summer. I snoppervise all watering and dead heading activities in the garden. Sometimes I even try to catch the water coming out of the watering can. Next week we will show you how out Cat Mint Wheelbarrow is coming on.

Here is a picture of Mrs Blue Tit who is nesting with her family under the guttering on the fornt of our house. Mum says that it is typical Mrs Blue Tit has decided to nest there as mum has provided several bird nest boxes for her to choose from. Silly Tit!

I hope you enjoyed my first gardening post.

National Kids and Pets Day

Today is National Kids and Pets Day, probably not for us being that we're in the UK. But who could pass up the opportunity to celebrate such a fantastic day? Not us!

So you ask, why should pets have their very own kids? The answer is simple really, because they're fun, fun, fun. Not only do they present endless play opportunities, but they are also very handy to have around when you need to pass the blame of some misdeed or other. Invaluable I am sure you will agree.

Personally we have two of our own kids at home and over the years we have grown very attached to them, but it is important to remember to train your kid. After all, a trained kid is a happy kid. The main areas that kids should be training in is treat giving, petting and playing. The latter can be especially fun for both kitties and doggies, kids can be trained to play a large variety of games, including but not exclusive to; ball throwing, wand waving and red dot pointing.

It is also a well known fact that kids make excellent bed warmers, so be sure to snuggle close. Unfortunately due to their erratic nature they do not make the best lap sitters, this does tend to improve with age and the amount of mind rotting TV and video games made available to your kid.

It's not all sweetness and light however, if you're unfortunate enough to have come into possession of a defective kid they have a few technical issues, such as tail pulling and petting in the wrong direction! There are two courses available to you to remedy this. Scratch and bite! Although general avoidance is recommended.

So there you have it, here at The Paw Relations we feel that the benefits of owning a kid far outweigh the drawbacks. So don't delay, get yourself a kid today!

Thursday In The Garden - Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day to all our friends!

It's about high time we did another gardening post around here!

After all, since we've been experiencing some of the loveliest weather April has to offer and the relative peace and quiet of British Airspace being closed, it seemed a shame to waste the day indoors.

Above is our Ribes or Flowering Red Current plant that mum rescued from Grandma Bean, who sadly neglected it and then decided to bin it. Can you believe it?? Anyway mum rescued it, cut it back hard and grew it on in a pot all last year, until this spring when it was finally ready to be planted in the garden. It's so happy it rewarded mum with two lots of beautiful flowers.

Now mum would like to have you believe that she did the work in the above pictures, but she didn't. In fact two strange men came yesterday and dug up our broken concrete sunbathing place, erm, I mean garden path and replaced it with top soil and grass seed. Of course we snoopervised the whole operation from the start. Now we have to look after the grass seeds until they decide to grow into nommy grass. That means scaring away the birds (we've got that covered) and watering the seeds. Water? Umm, muuuuuuuuuuuuum!

Don't forget to check out our very good friends gardening posts today as well.

Slinky Malinki or Chunky Malunki?

When I was a very young kitten mum used to call me her Slinky Malinki after the rhyme by Lynley Dodd.

It went something like;
Slinky Malinki was blacker than black
A stalking and lurking adventurous cat
He had bright yellow eyes and a warbling wail
And a kink at the end of his very long tail

He was cheeky and cheerful
Friendly and Fun
He'd chase after leaves
And he'd roll in the sun

But at night he was wicked and fiendish and sly
Through the moonlight and shadows he'd prowl and he'd pry
What was he up to?
At night to be brief; Slinky Malinki turned into A THIEF!

Only lately mum has taken to calling me Chunky Malunki!!! I am not in anyway 'chunky' as it's clearly winter floof, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

P.S. Mum apologises for not visiting much over the last few days, but things where scarily busy. She hopes to catch up with you all soon.

We Got Post!!!

Tuesday the postman came to our house with a package from Eric and Flynn for winning their 1000th post giveaway! Only mum was out, stupid mum!

It was alright though, because he stuck a note through the door telling mum she could pick it up from the local Sorting Office. All she had to do was bring some identification and if she was picking the package up on behalf of somebody else, their identification as well.

We're cats! We don't have identification!

Luckily mum had a cunning plan. She took with her our vaccination records with us. The postal worker was a bit bemused when she handed them over for identification purposes, but once mum explained that we were cats he seemed satisfied with that and handed over the package.

Of course we had to wait until Toddler bean had gone to bed before we opened it as she usually takes all the toys to herself. My goodness we hit the motherload! Loads of lovely toys, treats and some zoomy dried cat nip. So much good stuff that a fight over who was playing with what broke out.

So for all your viewing pleasure, a slide show of us enjoying our prize. Thank you so much Eric and Flynn (and your mum)! We loves you xxx

If it slide show doesn't load you can watch it here.

Please Vote Lola (and Alice)!

Today is Kitty Fight Club Round Three, between our very own Lola Fannola and Alice from Casbah Kitten over at The World According to Misha.

It looks as if Lola is up against some very stiff and cute competition (that and mum bean's camera skills aren't up to much). So we would be grateful if our friends voted for Lola (and of course Alice).

Thank you.

Mandog Monday

I am in the dog house, so to speak. You see, I was incredibly naughty at a time when I should have been on my best behaviour. Let me explain.....

Friday evening Preteen bean fell in the garden, hitting and cutting the back of her head. As mum doesn't drive she called grandmum bean and asked her to take Preteen bean to hospital.

Mum was helping Preteen bean in the car when Toddlerbean run up the garden path to say goodbye to her sister. She then fell and grazed her elbows and knees. It was whilst mum bean was comforting Toddler bean that I took it upon myself to go for a stroll out of the garden gate and down the road.

I then decided to turn a deaf ear to mum bean as she tried to call me back home. This was very naughty of me, because I know I am not to leave the front garden and I know I am to come when called and not dance about playing 'catch me if you can' in the middle of the road.

Preteen bean and Toddler bean are okay, all injuries were superficial. But as mum had to keep a close eye on Preteen bean, she wasn't able to visit much over the weekend, sorry.

I hope to be out of the dog house soon.

No.............

I did NOT enjoy my dip in the bath!

I like watching the running water when mum runs a bath. I either slipped or because mum hadn't put any bubbles in the water, got in because I thought it was empty. I like sitting in the empty bath.

Mum says that I was very lucky as dad likes to run the hot water first when running a bath, but because mum is a lady and has a bit more brains about her (plus having children) she always runs the cold first.

After I took my dip mum tried to dry me off with a towel as I was dripping water everywhere. Only I was very scared and angry, because Thomas and Charlie were laughing at me, so hissed and scratched her. Mum forgave me though. Honestly who could say mad at the face like mine?

I don't think I'll be watching the water run for a while now.

Photo Meme

Yesterday we were tagged by Monty Q Kat over at Survival Of The Furriest. We have played this game before recently, but it's so much fun we decided to do it again, this time using a different folder.

The rules of this meme are pretty simple.

Go onto your computer and open the first picture folder you come across (we cheated a little bit on this and chose a different folder)

Post the 10th photograph in that folder and tell the story behind it

Then tag five other bloggers to play. (we know that a lot of friends played this game recently, so if you wish to play again, consider yourself tagged.

So without further ado, here's our 10th photo.

This picture was taken on 29/03/2008 on Toddlerbean's 2nd Birthday.

She's sitting in her most favourite present she received that day from her grandparents.

A princess pink Cosy Coupe Car.
