Scafflaw Week - Bad Cat
Our good friend Fin over at Housecat Confidential is hosting a Scafflaw Week. A Scafflaw is a person who flouts the law, a person who flouts rules, conventions, or accepted practices.
Our mum doesn't have many laws, rules or even accepted practices. But she does have one rule and that rule is. DO NOT GET ON THE SHELVES WHERE HER ORNAMENTS ARE KEPT!
Of course we listen to her every word and then chose to ignore them. We have even been known to shoot lasers at her while we're ignoring her every word.
Punishment for breaking this one and only rule is as follows.
Mum performs a strange dance with lots of wailing and arm waving. She then starts clapping her hands and making 'psst, psst' noises. We have been known to ignore this as well.

Funny Friday - Simon's Cat in 'The Box'
We all love Simon's Cat here. so we thought we would share with you a NEW Simon's Cat video, The Box. I'm sure you'll all agree we have been there ourselves. Enjoy.

P.S. To all our readers that were worried the insect in our Wordless Wednesday Post - Whappable was a wasp or a bee and we would get stung, fear not. The insect is called a Wasp Hover Fly or Flower Fly, a false wasp that cannot sting. They just like to pretned they can.

Farewell Dear Friend
On Tuesday one of our oldest and dearest cat blogging friends Fat Eric, had to be helped to the bridge. Eric was a senior kitty and hadn't been feeling well or eating.
Time is a crying creature, crouching poised to fight
Sliding through the shadows and dancing in the light
Time is here to hunt us, trapped in her claws so tight
Time is a slender creature, stretching in a gentle sway
Stalking through the darkness and pacing out her prey
Suddenly silently, snatching precious ones away
Time is a cordial creature, kindly soothing tears
Warming up the memories and purring in your ears
Gliding through the twilight, chasing all your fears
Time is an aging creature, slowing in her gait
Greying at the corners and bidding us to wait
Reminding us so sweetly, we can't escape our fate

P.S. Today mum is getting her stitches removed. she's really looking forward to having a long soak in the bath. Something she has not been able to do with her stitches in. We did say if she would just lick herself clean, she wouldn't have this problem.

Mandog Monday - It's Great Being Black!
My new friend Dexter over at Mango and Dexter's Great Adventures is holding a super contest for all Black Labradors.
And I am here to tell you why it's so great being a Black Labrador.
Black is stylish, black is slimming, black goes with everything. Blacks, well, the new black.

Silly Sunday - Facebook
The following is a conversation we had with our Grandbean on Facebook.
Paw Relations: Hello nanny! Can we come and live with you? The service and seating arrangements here are less then desirable
Nanny: You can come and live with me. We have a nice tank full of fat fish for your entertainment and enjoyment, but of course any catawailing and you will be shown the door. Only quiet well behaved pussies round here and of course you need to get on with Syd the house rabbit - we run an orderly house here
Paw Relations: Can you believe that they had roast gammon for dinner and didn't offer us any?
Madam, we have never catawailed in our lives, our mother's brought us up good a proper, taught us how to keep our whiskers clean!
Syd the rabbit will be shown the same indifference with which we treat each other, unless in the unlikely event that there should be a treat or nip spillage, then it is every cat or rabbit for themselves.
Our needs and requirements are few and we're sure that you will find them agreeable.
Food; provided at regular intervals during the day, none of that cheap Sainsbury's own brand stuff. Only Go-cat complete and Whiskas Dental Advance shall pass our lips. After all, as we're sure you'll agree, there is no excuse for poor dental hygiene. Only the Go-cat varieties with the little bone shaped biscuits are acceptable.
Treats should be readily available on demand, three each, unless Lola is in the vicinity then the ratio of treats should be proportionate to her interest in inhaling them.
Fresh water, should be available at all times, for us to ignore at our convenience in favour of the slimy, slightly smelly stuff that collects around plant pots.
Sufficiently comfortable areas on which to nap. Napping is serious business and should not be disturbed, also possession being nine tenths of the law, anything that we're napping on at any given time is ours.
Strokes and chin rubs on demand, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
A personal door service should we wish to go out, or come in, or go back out again, come in, go out, in, out, in, out.
Appropriate blogging and Internet surfing time. Not only do we have a blog to maintain, but two Facebook pages and a twitter account. Our fans and followers will be expecting their regular updates.
That is all for now.
We await your reply at your earliest convenience.

Nanny: Having read your demands I am sorry to say I am a poor underpaid secretary and as such would find it hard if not near impossible to keep you in comfort you have been accustomed to.
I think that all things considered I feel you are best off staying where you are, after all it is only a small inconvenience having to make other sitting arrangements such as for example, a nice warm lap and a cat mad owner, who I am sure loves you very much and would be mortified if you were to transfer your affections all for the sake of a place to sit.
Anyway we are on holiday next week and with no one at home to cater to you needs you would have to go into a cattery, which I am sad to say means you would have to make do with whatever food is on offer and no comfy settee to settle on after a long day of doing feline things.
What do you say? The grass is not always greener on the other side.
Paw Relations: We have taken all the points in your previous message into consideration. We have decided to stay, for the time being.
This is in no way due to the reasonings outlined above, but because it is currently raining outside and when cat fur gets wet, you simply can't do a thing with it!
Aloofingly yours

Versatile Blogger Award
- Thank and link back to the blog that gave you this award
- Share 7 things about yourself
- Pass this award onto 15 blogs that you have recently discovered that you think are fantastic.
So here are 7 things about us
1. Shen broke his leg when he was a four month old puppy. This was before our (the cats) time, but we're told the he did it jumping off the sofa whilst playing with a toy. Apparently a very common way for puppies to break their legs. Shen is all fine now, but has been left with a fear of the vets.
2. Despite Charlie being the fattest of the group he is the fussiest eater. Mum has cut his food down, but suspects a neighbour may be feeding him. They must have pretty poor eyesight if they think Charlie is starving and in need of food!
3. Thomas really loves fresh catmint, he goes wild for it. However it doesn't seem to have any effect on the other two
4. Lola loves having her photo taken and will run over to Mum whenever she gets her camera out
5. There was only supposed to be two cats in our home after Dad said that Mum could get Charlie for her birthday. However Dad came across Lola while searching on Freecycle.org for paving slabs. She came to us as a completely feral kitten and the rest they say is history.
6. Mum started blogging after somebody put a like up to a cat's blog on a parenting forum she belongs to. Mum thought, I could do that! again the rest is history.
7. Mum has a niece doggy. A chocolate Labrador called Holly. She's Shen's best friend and sometimes stays over for a week or two.
We hope we having bored you to much.
We know that several of our friends both old and new have already received this award, so we would like to make it available to any of our friends, both old and new, who wish to take it.

It's Time To Pawty!
Here's the beautiful Barkday girl now! Sugar has asked that to celebrate her barkday we all post on our blog how we would pawty. So this is how I would pawty on down at Sugar's barkday
What pawty would be complete without balloons, hats and pawty decorations?
Then there's the entertainment and what is more entertaining then a few tennis balls?
After all that exercise there should be plenty of opportunities to lazy about in the pool.
There will be digging areas available to those that like to feel the sand between there toes and in their ears, eyes and furs.
Of course everyone is sure of a warm welcome. So please come, pawty on down and help me celebrate Sugars special day!

Frightened Feline Femme Friday
Dear furiends,
I have something truly terrifying to tell you. Yesterday I was sitting in the front garden, snoopervising mum watering the plants and the general to-ing and fro-ing of the street when.
No, it's too difficult to talk about, I simply cannot say anymore!
Okay, if you insist, I believe I can find the strength to continue.
As I said I was snoopervising in the front garden when two huge and ugly human men came up to the fence and started, this may be difficult for you to hear friends, started to TALK to me!
They began by telling me how pretty I was and what a lovely colour my furs are, then the kissy noises started. I have heard tales about these sorts of humans before. They, this pains me to say it furiends, they befriend pretty little cats so that they can steal them and then turn them into FUR COATS!
Well, I was not about to become somebody's fur coat so I ranned as fast and my legs would carry me and I hid, hid behind my mum and she went over and scared the evil men away!
It was only because of my quick thinking furiends that I am here to tell the tale.
Lola Fannola x
**The Mum here, the two evil men were my 92 year old neighbour, Arthur from across the street and his son. Arthur is a huge cat lover but due to his age can no longer keep them, so he likes to 'share' my cats. Lola being formally feral is very mistrustful of all people not in her family and makes a habit of running away from anyone she doesn't know. Not a bad habit to have really. This post is a funny story based on her point of view. I can promise you there are no evil cat stealing coat making men here!**

Thursday in the garden
To be honest we've been slacking in the garden lately. This is due to the hot weather and the fact that there is nothing exciting to be done in the garden, except endless watering and those of us that have more then two brain cells to rub together (not Lola) tend to avoid the watering can at all costs.
So we thought we would share with you something interesting that we found on our cat mint. The very same cat mint that our mum attempted to assassinate.
These little fellows and we do mean little, they have a wing span of 10-15 millimetres, are called Mint Moths or Pyrausta aurata. They are a type of moth called Day Moths, meaning that they are active during the day rather then nocturnal like most moths.
As the name suggests, the Mint moth often uses mint as a food plant, though it can also be found on other species such as marjoram. In north-west Europe it can be seen from April until the end of September. We feel especially lucky to have them in our garden as we live in the South East of England, not exactly the North West of Europe.
Please don't forget to visit our other gardening furiends and find out what they have been up to.

**An update on the Mum.**
I went to the hospital yesterday only to find out the appointment was to see a dermatologist for assessment before a further referral to have the mole removed. However when the dermatologist examined the mole she said she was not at all happy with it and it needed to be removed a.s.a.p as it's colour was ringing alarm bells. She asked if I had come to the hospital on my own or driven myself. When I said that my mother had brought me to the hospital she decided to do it there and then.
I didn't feel a thing, not even the anaesthetic injection. This could have been due to the extra layers of fat I had put on in that general area over the winter or the fact the dermatologist and her nurse asked me about my cats.
I now have the keep the area dry and clean for two weeks with instructions not the stretch the area or do any exercise. After two weeks the stitches will be removed and then I will get an appointment to get the results. The dermatologist did say that even if the news is bad I have had the best treatment available, it's removal and she is confident if it is anything we have caught it early enough.
Thank you all for your purrs and positive vibes! xxx
