Thinking Thursday

*Thinking*

There has been a lot of strange talk around here lately. Recently I overheard mum telling dad that we were all going to see a very nice man about a rooster shoot.

Mum didn't strike me as a blood sport kind, but I hear those roosters can be particularly noisy and troublesome. So that could be why people want to shoot them. Anyway our appointment will be made in the next few weeks (these rooster shoots seem rather popular). I shall report back as soon as I can.

**Mum here, I think Thomas must have misheard. They're all due their booster shots. Someone is in for a very nasty surprise.**

In Loving Memory of Sakura

We got these two wonderful awards from Batu Khan's blog. He was awarded them by Sakura's mum, Belle De Jour.

Sadly Sakura passed away recently. He was a good furiend and we always enjoyed reading his wonderful blog.

Batu is passing on the above awards in Sakura's memory, for all those who knew and loved him and to those who sadly never got to meet him. We're doing the same.

RIP sweet Sakura, we will miss you greatly, until we meet at the bridge xxx

Morose Mancat Monday

*sigh*

Today, it is raining. You can see the rain drops on the garden table and the arm of the chair. It's that horrible fine rain that gets right through your fur.

So I have had to put all my mancatly plans for the day on hold. There was dirt bathing, grass chewing, catmint rolling, sunbeam and sunpuddle quailty testing, bug hunting, bee bothering and of course the most important mancatly duty of all, annoying my little sister Lola.

Now I shall have to spend the day napping instead. A Mancat's work is never done.

Charlie O'Marley x

P.S. Mum apologises for not getting around to visiting our furiends over the last few days. It's now the school summer holidays here in England for the next six (SIX!?!) weeks. So not only does she have three cats to entertain and serve our every whim, but now she has two children that we suppose need looking after as well. As long as she doesn't make a habit of it.

Stupid Rules Sunday

The Mum here. First off all I would like to thank everyone for the purrs and well wishes, it really means a lot!

I thought I would give everyone an update on the situation.

Yesterday I went to my surgical appointment at the local hospital. There I had to show the mole to two different doctors. I was then told that it wasn't a mole, but a Plastoma (a change in the skin cells, but not usually a cancerous change) and due to new rules and the fact that it is classed as suspicious, they were not allowed to remove it at this appointment.

So I would have to go away and come back to the same hospital to see the same surgeon in two weeks time for it to be removed. The surgeon did lament the stupid rule and stated while he was 'pretty sure' it wasn't cancerous, he recommended I have it removed sooner rather then later.

As I am sure everyone can understand this has left me feeling upset, frustrated and a little angry. I just want to get rid of this thing as I feel it's taking over my life. Not only that, but surely not removing the Plastoma at that appointment and making another one has cost our NHS money that it can ill afford

Hopefully soon it will be all over.

Thanks again

Purrs for mum

Could we please ask for some special purrs for our mum today as she is having a minor operation to remove a suspicious mole?

We don't know why it is suspicious, prehaps it has been wearing sunglasses and hanging about with shady characters.

Anyway, usually hospitals and operations don't bother mum, but this one has her very worried.

Thought for the day Thursday

Thinking, hard

Our thought for today is, how easily our humans are manipulated.

For example, yesterday morning when dad got up to go to his day hunting gig we decided to pull they old 'we haven't been fed for the last 24 hours' stunt, so dad would feed us. Charlie's suggestion that we suck in our cheeks and stomachs worked wonders

Two hours later, we pulled the exact same stunt with mum when she got up. Our timing was imperative, so we struck before she's had her morning coffee.

Of course both mum and dad were none the wiser until mum mentioned to dad that we were going through our food faster then usual.

Tagged - Come and Play

Last week Milo and Alfie at The Cat's Meow and Amy and The House of Cats took part in this game and tagged any other kitties who wished to take part. So we decided to give it a go.

Do you get along with your brofurs and or sisfurs?

Sometimes. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't. Charlie and Lola tend to get on better with each other then Thomas, but Thomas gets on better with Lola then he does Charlie. Of course there are times when we can get on together (when we all sleeping) and there are times when we all fight (over new toys or treats).

What's best about the city in which you live?

This is a difficult question really but we guess we like the fact that it in generally quiet and safe here with lots of green area to explore and hunt for grass monsters in.

What's your favourite colour?

We wear our favourite colours on our collars. Thomas's is red, Charlie's is blue and Lola's is pink.

Who is your favourite human not in your family and why?

We don't really like strange humans or humans outside our family, so we tend to make ourselves scarce.

What are your bestest games to play?

We love to play thundering herd of elephants, but also enjoy playing with wand and fishing rod toys, chasing balls and bunny kicking nip toys.

We're supposed to tag five other kitties to play, but we're going to leave it open for anyone who wishes to take part.

Thieving Feline Thursday

Yesterday mum was sorting out the prizes to send to The Kool Kittie Krew, winners of our Super Sunday Giveaway. Only she became distracted when it was time to put Toddlerbean to bed.

That, was when somebody decided to strike!

RAWR!

It wasn't me, you can't prove anything!

Luckily mum bought us a packet of goodies to celebrate us reaching 100 followers. So once mum has done a bit more shopping she will be able to send The Kool Kittie Krew their prize.

Charlie O'Marley x

P.S. After mum washed our toys (on a cool wash with non bio detergent, no fabric softener) and dried them she sprayed them with cat nip spray and then shook them in a bag of dried nip. Now they're as good as new. Mum only washed them because somebody, who will remain nameless (Lola) took them out in the garden and left them out there in the rains, so they got all muddy and horrid.

Washday and Winners Wednesday

Hello furiends! Today, is washday!

Mum got sick of all the hairy, dirty smelly toys that she kept finding under the sofa, behind the TV and in the garden. So, she decided to wash them and I graciously decided to help.

Yes, yes. All these toys need to be washed mum.

That's right, pop them in the special laundry bag for delicate, precious items. All our toys are precious.

Enjoy your spin in the washing machine little toys. When you're finished and dried, I'll be there, ready to whap you back where you came.

We would like to thank everyone how took part in our Super Sunday Giveaway and helping us celebrate having over 100 followers. So that time has come, we have a winner. There were 54 unique commentors, so mum popped along to Random.org. Here is the result.

Comment number 27

And the winner is............... drum roll please.................

The Kool Kittie Krew! Congratulations!

Please e-mail us your address so we can send you your prize.

Thanks again to everyone who took part

Life Is Good Award

Our mum has recieved this award from Milo and Alife over at The Cat's Meow and Eric and Flynn. They have made the award available to those that haven't done it yet.

This award is for mums/dads who help their kitties to blog. Answer the questions and then pass on to five other mums.

1. What would your perfect day consist of?

Waking early in the morning before anyone else, enjoying my coffee in peace and quiet before pottering about the house. Sharing the morning with the family and pets before spending some time in the garden either relaxing with a good book or gardening.

2. How would you describe yourself is you were an item of clothing?

A well worn comfortable pair of jeans that are great for relaxing in but can be glammed up if the need caals for it.

3. What hobbies are you currently working on?

Blogging, photography, Blipfoto, Gardening, Researching family and Local History.

4. Walking in the woods with wellies or bare foot on the beach?

Walking in the woods with wellies. I love being in woodland.

5. Have you hugged or sang to a tree?

No. But I do talk to plants

6. Growing our own veggies or nipping to the supermarket?

Both. We're just starting out on the Grow Your Own path, so still need to nip to the supermarket.

7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?

8. Slap up meal in a posh restaurant or fish 'n' chips from the wrapper?

Fish and chips. Yum!

Finicky Fat Feline Friday

A mystery........

Mum had noticed that Charlie was looking a little chunky lately, but couldn't think of a reason behind the sudden weight gain. After all Charlie is a finicky feline who doesn't eat a lot of what is offered at home.
Well the mystery is solved and here is the evidence.........

Charlie has been rifling through other people's rubbish in order to lick out used tuna tins, this is the fouth one mum has found in the last week. I don't mean to be catty, but it's not doing his waistline any good!
Mum cannot wait until everyone gets the new lidded recycling bins from the Local Authority.

Thursday In The Garden with Charlie O'Marley

Hello fellow feline gardeners and furiends. Today it is my turn to show you around our garden. There is so much do to, plants to water, blooms to dead head and butterflies to chase.

We have finally had a break in the hot weather at a short shower of rain, however the weather man says that it's not to last and the hot will be coming back from tomorrow. Snoopervision in the heat of the day can become quite exhausting.

Mum has planted up two very special containers for us and placed them by the front door. They contain Pink Cat Mint (Walker's Low), Lemon Verbena and purple grass. Mum got the idea from one of her cat magazines, Your Cat.

Not only do they look lovely, but they're all good plants for cats.

Om nom nom nom nom. Ahem, just making sure that everything is in order.

The Hydrangea is bursting in to bloom.

The new Petunia hanging baskets are growing well.

Last but not least our first tomato, currently growing on our tomato plants.

I hope you have enjoyed looking round our garden today. Don't forget to check out the other gardening kitties out there. Go and see what they're up to in their gardens today.

Wordless Wednesday - I See You

Lola Fannola x

We apologise for the lack of posting and visiting that has not been occuring lately. Unfortunately Toddler Bean has picked up a rather nasty tummy bug from school and is not very well at all. Mum says she will catch up with everyone once Toddler Bean is feeling better and back to school.

Finally Friday

Thomas O'Toole

Finally it looks like we're going to get a break in the hot weather, with rain showers predicted today. The garden could sure use that rain. we know that the weather we've been experiencing isn't as hot as some our furiends have been suffering, but here in England we're just not used to it.

We will be looking forward to hunting grass monsters in the garden and napping in the cool breeze on the trampoline, rather then hiding out in the coolest room in the house.

Thought for the day Thursday

Mum should really remember to throw the rubbish bag away in the bin before going to bed. Otherwise she might wake up to the scene illustrated in the photograph above. Just saying.

Disgusting! Who made such an awful mess?
