Mad Mum Mancat Monday
Somehow we seem to have inexplicantly upset The Mum with our Mother's Day gifts of chewed daffodils and a trashed kitchen. We can't understand why, after all why go to all the effort of cleaning everyday if you don't enjoy it. Humans can be so stupid sometimes!
Anyway, since we seem to have upset her we thought that would would go all out in the gift giving department today. The Mum just loves watching the birdies that visit our garden, especially the Blue Tits that are nesting just under our roof. For those of you that don't know, this is what a Blue Tit looks like...
Juicy, erm... we mean cute, yeah... cute. So we got The Mum a Blue Tit fledgling, but somehow it's batteries had runned out by the time we gave it to her. She didn't look too impressed. There's just no pleasing some people. Next year we just won't bother!
Thomas O'Toole x
P.S. The Blue Tit 'fledgling' only had downy body feathers and the flight feathers had yet to develop. As the Blue Tit family are nesting in a gap where our roof meets the wall it would be impossible for the cats to rob the nest. I believe that this unlucky baby was unfortunately pushed from the nest. As baby birds grow there isn't a lot of room for moving about in the nest and sadly some do fall.

Our mums can be so unappreciative at times!!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteGlad the cats were not to blame for it's demise.
ReplyDeleteWe hate it when the batteries run down on gifts...our Mommy usually squeals with joy when we give her scorpions. Try one of those next time!
ReplyDeletePoor baby bird...we still think you fellas were thoughtful with your gift choice. Maybe not the trashing of the kitchen, but what mom doesn't love flowers and pretty birds?
ReplyDeleteSadly, if they all survived we would be inundated with blue tits!
ReplyDeleteSometimes nature can be harsh, we're glad to hear it wasn't Thomas
ReplyDeleteI tried to help mummy with her gardening and pull some baby peas up. She wasn't impressed with that either!! As you say, there is no pleasing hoomans huh xx
ReplyDeleteRIP fledgling.
ReplyDeletePerhaps some cat-bomit on the kitchen floor would cheer yoor mom up? MOL!
There is just no pleasing some humans, no matter how hard you try! Very ungrateful of your mum, we say!

ReplyDeleteOk...here we go....when you are freezing cold, what happens to a part of your body?????
Don't worry...I'm gone now! :)
Maybe your human did not appreciate the bird gift because she guessed that you did not have to work very hard to acquire it!
ReplyDeleteThere is just no pleasing them sometimes. But I think my mum would not be happy to be given a baby bird either. Sheesh mums.. Hugs GJ xx
ReplyDeleteI think it is terribly sad that your human did not appreciate your thoughtful gift. She sounds appallingly like my own person.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't your mum know it's the thought that counts?? Sheesh!!
